Italy said on Tuesday that it had summoned Switzerland’s ambassador after Swiss authorities implemented overnight closures of three small border crossings.
Ambassador Giancarlo Kessler said the closure of the border posts in the southern canton of Ticino was an experimental measure to test whether it improved cooperation between the neighbouring countries’ police forces, according to a statement from the Italian foreign ministry. Source The Local
OPEC+ headed for a clash with the U.S. as more members rejected President Joe Biden’s call for the group to raise oil production faster and help reduce gasoline prices. On Monday, Kuwait said the cartel should stick with its plan to increase output gradually because oil markets were well-balanced.
