For two months, using marinetraffic.com, we have been monitoring the movements of ships owned by a couple of NGOs. Using data from data.unhcr.org., we have kept track of the daily arrivals of African immigrants in Italy. It turned out we were witness to a big scam and an illegal human traffic operation.
NGOs, smugglers, the mafia in cahoots with the European Union have shipped thousands of illegals into Europe under the pretext of rescuing people, assisted by the Italian coast guard which coordinated their activities.

Human traffickers contact the Italian coast guard in advance to receive support and to pick up their dubious cargo. NGO ships are directed to the “rescue spot” even as those to be rescued are still in Libya. The 15 ships that we observed are owned or leased by NGOs have regularly been seen to leave their Italian ports, head south, stop short of reaching the Libyan coast, pick up their human cargo, and take course back 260 miles to Italy even though the port of Zarzis in Tunis is just 60 miles away from the rescue spot.
The organizations in question are: MOAS, Jugend Rettet, Stichting Bootvluchting, Médecins Sans Frontières, Save the Children, Proactiva Open Arms, Sea-Watch.org, Sea-Eye and Life Boat.
The real intention of the people behind the NGOs is not clear. We would not be surprised if their motive were money. They may also be politically driven; the activities of the Malta-based organisation, MOAS, by trafficking people to Italy is the best guarantee that migrants will not show up on the Maltese shore. MOAS is managed by an Maltese Marine officer well known in Malta for his maltreatment of refugees 1)The Americans from MOAS ferry migrants to Europe Source Gefira . It is also possible that these organisations are managed by naive “do-gooders” who do not understand that offering their services they are acting like a magnet to the people from Africa and thus they are willy-nilly causing more fatalities, not to mention that their actions are destabilizing Europe.
However high-minded the intentions of these organisations might be, their actions are criminal as most of these migrants are not eligible for being granted asylum and will end up on the streets of Rome or Paris and undermine Europe’s stability raising racially motivated social tensions.
Brussels has created particular legislature to protect people traffickers against prosecution. During the two months of our observation, we have monitored at least 39 000 Africans illegally smuggled into Italy, which was done with the full consent of the Italian and European authorities.

Well, the international law is very clear. People rescued at sea shall be taken to the closest SAFE harbour, which is Tunisia. NOT Europe. If governments had wanted and started to take constructive actions 20+ years ago they could’ve avoided this situation of so much problems and heartache. I’ve found that fairly often the very same politicians that are war-mongering and war-profiteering are the loudest voices for encouraging more migrants come to Europe. I wouldn’t be too vocal about your very sloppy research and I sure wouldn’t use them to come to you demonstrably ignorant conclusions.
1) The rescue and transport of migrants to Italy is handled by the Rome Rescue Center. The NGO’s are under their command and control.
2) You can’t see the number of coast guard, naval and military ships involved because they don’t have AIS. They do the bulk of the rescues if you actually took the time to research the numbers.
3) Your allegations that MOAS has links with Blackwater is again an example of lazy you are in trying to make a negative connection between a journalist and a company that doesn’t exist, or present internationally known NGO’s as criminal organizations it just proves you don’t know you topic and you don’t do your research.
4) Finally, smuggling is a crime. All of these NGO’s and the military are LEGALLY bringing people to Europe.
Worse they can barely carry 200 – 400 people compared to the Navy ships which can transport thoudans. So please, if you want people to respect your views (forget your research). Get the basic facts right

Your ad hominen sarcasm and deliberate mis-representation fool no-one. Clearly the various NGO vessels are entering Libyan waters not to “rescue ” refugees but to pick-up then tranship/deck transfer to Italian naval/coastguard vessels which GUARANTEES onward travel to Italy. This makes these NGOs the penultimate link in a people-trafficking racket involving criminal gangs in lawless Libya (thanks NATO for destroying the Libyan state ! ) and the mafias of southern Italy. In just three years over 500 000 Africans ( mostly Nigerians, Guineans, Eritreans ) have been transported to Italy where they will stay – forever. The EU countries have closed their borders with northern Italy, so Italy alone has to bear the costs (5 billion Euro last year) for everything. Meanwhile the criminal families running Albania and Montenegro are using their drug/arms/women routes across they Adriatic to fast-ferry more illegal migrants (mix of Syrian/Afghani/Sri Lankan/Bangladeshi) across to the Puglia shores to add to the problem. It is NOT humanitarian to transfer millions from sub-Saharan states and dump them in Italy.

We know the European Parliament creates a juridical waver. There will be a day of reckoning by the people of Europe. We also got the assurance that Mafia from Sicilian is involved.

Italy has lost control of its own borders, in desperation now funding a Libyan coastguard supposed to stop these unpowered dinghies and barges before these enter international waters. Problem is the Libyan gangs just tow these vessels a few kms out, then cut them adrift, send distress signal with co-ordinates ( sometimes hours in advance) and head back knowing the NGO will pick them up, then transfer them onto Italian vessels for guaranteed onward passage . Australia had a similar problem with organized people trafficking a few years ago (minus the NGO intervention ) and have dealt with it very successfully as follows :
1. Vessels carrying illegal migrant cargoes are intercepted by the Australian Navy and are turned back or where safe to do so towed back to port of origin (usually Indonesia).
2. Where smugglers sabotage or scupper their vessel to prevent 1. the crew are arrested and their human cargo sent to remote offshore islands OUTSIDE Australias migration zone for processing.
3. After processing, whether found to be genuine bona fide refugee or not (mostly not), no-one is given right of entry into Australia. They are given the option of returning to their own country , re-settlement in a third country ( Cambodia) or UNRWA camp in Indonesia, or remain in the camps.
4. The number assessed as genuine refugees are added to the quotas offered by Australia to those existing genuine refugees on waiting lists in UNRWA camps in Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, and Kenya (Somalis)
As a result of this sensible and humanitarian policy the boats have stopped completely and NO lives have been lost at sea in 2016 from people smuggling ventures. In contrast at least 5 000 have drowned by engaing people traffickers, aided and encouraged by short-sighted, if not criminal NGO activities. Time to expose this scandal and ask why Italy does not adopt the Australian model ?
Sink one, sit and wait, repeat until no NGO ship operates between Italy and Libya.
