Saccinations, robberies, desecrations… Catholic places of worship are targeted throughout the country, with nearly three acts committed every day. LR elected representatives are calling on the authorities.
“God will forgive, I will not”: Bernard Carayon, mayor of Lavaur, in the Tarn, has not taken off since the desecration that targeted, on February 5, the cathedral of Saint-Alain, a jewel of southern Gothic style. At the end of the day, two high school students, identified by cameras located nearby, invade the place of worship, set fire to the altar of one of the building’s chapels and a crèche. A crucifix was turned over, a second thrown away while a third Christ on the cross had his arm twisted to make him take a grotesque pose in the confessional. Le Figaro
