Giorgia Meloni: Leader of hard-right Brothers on track to be Italy’s first woman PM

The hard-right Brothers of Italy party has surged to second place in the polls, prompting predictions that its leader, Giorgia Meloni, could one day be the country’s first female prime minister.

Meloni’s party, on 19.5 per cent, is closing in on Matteo Salvini’s League, which has dropped to 21 per cent from a peak of 34 per cent two years ago. Source The Times
