Global Analysis from the European Perspective. Preparing for the world of tomorrow

No riots? No doubts?

The Washington Capital has been stormed. People got maced and shot at. Among the casualties there was a white woman who died as a result of a shot to the neck. To the neck. When a black man died as a consequence of a policeman kneeling on his neck, the whole of the United States seems to have gone up in flames. When protesters in Kiev in 2014 staged riots in the Maidan, the Western media were expressing their support for them and railing against the Ukrainian authorities.

Whence this difference? Whence this unjustness?

George Floyd was a violent male criminal, Ashli Babbitt – a respectable citizen, patriot, a servicewoman. The former was canonised upon his death, the latter may only expect universal condemnation.

Viktor Yanukovych was toppled down – rightly so, as the Western media maintained – by displeased people. No suspicion about the lawfulness of George Biden’s election are allowed to be harboured. Why?

The presidential election in Belarus was rigged, that’s what we are all supposed to believe in. The American presidential election was carried out impeccably, that’s also what we are all told to believe in.

The Belorussian opposition’s claims that “power-lusting” President Alexander Lukashenko resorts to illicit measures to suppress other candidates are of course substantiated. George Biden, on the other hand, has been playing fair all along. How can anyone in his right mind feel uneasy about his intentions?

The news about the poisoning of Alexei Navalny has been hyped for a time to impress it on everybody’s mind and memory that Vladimir Putin’s Russia is run by nefarious exterminators. The news about Hunter Biden conducting illicit business with the Chinese and Ukrainians, about his drug problem and his mingling with prostitutes is dismissed offhandedly. Why?

Donald Trump’s victory was put down to fraud and Russian interference. Claims that George Biden’s victory is a result of rigging is laughed off heartily.

When a George Biden wins, it is democracy and all kind of progress that wins. When a Donald Trump wins, it is the deplorables that win. The deplorables make up roughly half the population of the United States. Why is their political opinion not to be reckoned with? Why are they denied the right to ballot as they please and elect the representatives of their political persuasion?

Imagine a black protester being killed in the Capital building on the day of recognising the validity of Donald Trump‘s election. Go and form a mental image of the most likely events and think about it.

    YES.
This is the best comment on the matter I have read so far.
