It was eighty years ago that Europe was liberated from fascism by Americans and Russians. Dwight Eisenhower, the commander-in-chief on the Western front, wrote about this effort in his “Crusade in Europe.” The story is repeating itself: by an odd quirk of history the European Union with its authoritarian inclinations, headed by – funnily enough – Germany, stands again in need of liberation, and again it is the Russians from the east and the Americans from the west who are doing this necessary job. They are carrying out another crusade in Europe.
This time the initial blow from the West was delivered by JD Vance, American vice president, at the Munich Security Conference, which is held annually. What he said was a master stroke, a magisterial speech (transcript and audio). Vice President JD Vance ran afoul of the European dictatorial establishment delivering a few knock-out blows of truth and common sense. The assertion that Europe is not threatened from outside – neither by Russia or China – set the stage for what followed. Europe is a threat to itself, Europe is sliding into fascism (though JD Vance did not use this term) because freedom of speech and free elections are anathema to the men and women at the top of the European pyramid. The commissioners have learnt how to keep European nations on a short leash, how to keep control of their minds and actions, how to steer public opinion and browbeat opponents into submission or silence. The EU commissioners are viscerally opposed to democratic processes just like their spiritual predecessors in the Soviet Union once were: they skew or engineer elections (Romania is a prime example, which JD Vance makes use of), they fabricate false narratives, and they act contrary to the wishes of their voters, especially in the case of immigration, as they want to settle Europe with people from outside the continent.
In Munich, Brussels’ acolytes and protégés suffered enormous damage to their prestige, to their stature. They have been exposed, their schemes have been laid bare. Contrary to what the commissioners wanted their subjects (yes, subjects, because Europeans can barely be viewed as citizens) to believe in they have been unmasked for what they are: totalitarian bullies whose lexicon does not contain words like compromise or freedom or democracy. Bullies who are democrats in name only, intimidators who cobble together laws that
- impose heavy media censorship or shut down social media;
- cancel or invalidate elections;
- criminalize silent prayer in the vicinity of abortion clinics, also prayers held at homes that happen to be within the so called protected zones of the said clinics (all of this mentioned in JD Vance’s speech);
- ruthlessly suppress alternative viewpoints.
Indeed, JD Vance – just like Dwight D Eisenhower eight decades earlier – has launched a crusade in Europe. For a crusade it is, complete with a spiritual fight. Europe has been embroiled in a spiderweb of inhuman ideologies just as it was embroiled in them towards the end of the first half of the 20th century. The EU bureaucrats are afraid of the voters just like their Bolshevik predecessors in the Soviet Union were, and the EU bureaucrats are rabidly anti-Christian just like their fascist predecessors in Germany were. Just think of it: one gets fined and imprisoned for silent prayer in the street or at home! If that does not prove the existence of Satan and his followers than I don’t know what does. Simultaneously, the ugly repellent repulsive disgusting revolting sickening nauseating obscene loathsome alphabet-parades are not only allowed but also encouraged and propagated! Dante’s inferno, indeed, sewage is backing up into our homes, into our public spaces, into our lives.
And to top it all, rather than quoting Nelson Mandela or Martin Luther King or Mahatma Gandhi – the darlings of the Western world – to wind up his speech, JD Vance quoted Pope John Paul II, who famously said “Do not be afraid” to the crowds gathered in Warsaw in 1979, the crowds that were oppressed by the communists. John Paul II addressed these words primarily to the common people, JD Vance addressed them to the commissioners, for they are scared of their people across Europe just as their predecessors in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union once were. And no wonder, the EU commissioners are the same ideological kinsfolk whose leftist members once forcibly controlled the Eastern bloc. Proof? All the former communists from central and eastern Europe flocked to the European Union without a second thought. Obviously, like draws like.
