Italy: 32,000 regularization requests filed in 2 weeks

Nearly 32,000 applications for the regularization of migrant workers have been presented to the Italian interior ministry in the first two weeks of this month after legislation approved in May came into force on June 1, according to official data released on June 15. Katie Hopkins permanently suspended from Twitter to keep platform ‘safe’ from ‘hateful conduct’

Twitter has permanently suspended the account of right-wing British media personality Katie Hopkins, who had amassed over a million followers and was retweeted by US President Donald Trump.
“Keeping Twitter safe is a top priority for us. Abuse and hateful conduct have no place on our service, and we will continue to take action when our rules are broken,” the social media company said in a statement on Friday. Source RT

NATO opens probe into France-Turkey naval incident in Mediterranean

NATO is investigating an incident in the Eastern Mediterranean in which France says Turkish frigates were “extremely aggressive” towards a French navy vessel participating in a NATO mission in the area, Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said on Thursday (18 June).

“The incident in the Mediterranean was addressed in the meeting by several allies,” Stoltenberg said after a virtual meeting of NATO defence ministers. Source EurActiv

The ‘Kentler Project’ in West Berlin routinely placed homeless children with pedophile men, assuming they’d make ideal foster parents. A study has found the practice went on for decades. Starting in the 1970s psychology professor Helmut Kentler conducted his “experiment.” Homeless children in West Berlin were intentionally placed with pedophile men. Taiwan warns off intruding Chinese aircraft for fourth time in nine days

Taiwan jets on Wednesday again had to warn off Chinese air force aircraft that approached the island, Taiwan’s military said, the fourth such encounter in nine days as China steps up its activity near the Chinese-claimed island.

The Chinese J-10, a fighter plane, and Y-8, a propeller aircraft often used for surveillance missions, entered Taiwan’s air defence identification zone around midday (0400GMT) to the southwest of the island, Taiwan’s air force said. Source Reuters
