Donald Rumsfeld, former US secretary of defense, dies aged 88

Donald Rumsfeld, the former US defense secretary who was the main architect of the 2003 invasion of Iraq, has died at the age of 88, his family said on Wednesday.

“It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Donald Rumsfeld, an American statesman and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. At 88, he was surrounded by family in his beloved Taos, New Mexico,” the family said in a statement.  Source Deutsche Welle

Italy’s 5Stars in turmoil after founder rejects plans for reboot

Italy’s 5Star Movement is at risk of a major split after its founder, the comedian Beppe Grillo, torpedoed the ambitions of the man he wanted to be its next leader, former Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte. Grillo effectively ended Conte’s chances of successfully rebooting the movement with a blog post that read: “Conte … has neither political vision nor managerial skills. He has no experience of organizations and no capacity for innovation.” Source Politico
