Danske Bank introduces negative interest rates on personal accounts

Denmark’s biggest lender Danske Bank is to introduce negative interest rates for certain private customers from June 1st. The terms of the negative interest rate will depend upon whether the customer uses Danske Bank for their primary personal bank account – which in the Danish context means the so-called NemKonto, used for things receiving wages and automatic payments to the state. Coronavirus cost Air France-KLM up to €200 million

Air France-KLM has estimated a shortfall of between 150 and 200 million euros due to the suspension of its flights to China from February to April because of the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19), the group announced on Thursday. “Under the assumption of a gradual resumption of operations as of April, Covid-19’s estimated impact on the operating result is -150 to -200 million euros between February and April,” the group announced in a statement. Taiwan’s export orders down 12.8% year-on-year in January

Total export orders declined 12.8 percent from a year earlier to US$35.32 billion after a year-on-year increase of 0.9 percent in December 2019, which ended 13 consecutive months of decline, the figures showed. On a month-on-month basis, export orders received in January also fell 19.4 percent from a month earlier and were down 2.9 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis, according to the figures. Maersk operates massive container ships. It’s canceled 50 sailings over coronavirus

Maersk, the world’s largest container shipping company, has warned of a “very weak” start to the year as the coronavirus keeps factories shuttered in China and dents demand for the transport of goods. The Danish ship operator said Thursday that it has canceled more than 50 trips to and from Asia since the Lunar New Year holiday was extended because of the outbreak.  Source CNN Business
