Russia Delivered Military Equipment through Hungarian Airspace

After Romania refused, Russia used the Hungarian airspace to deliver armored vehicles for Serbia, news agency Associated Press reported. Media reports say Russia flew the ten armored vehicles -part of a larger contingent- to Serbia last week on its transport planes using Hungarian airspace after Romania’s refusal to let them be transported via the Danube because of the international sanctions in place against Moscow. German Investment in Russia Reaches Its Highest Level in a Decade

German businesses invested more than $3.7 billion in Russia last year. German businesses invested more than €3.3 billion ($3.7 billion) in Russia last year, reaching the highest levels in a decade and exceeding numbers not seen since Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014, according to data from the Russia-German Chamber of Commerce cited by the Financial Times. U.S. Dollar’s Share Collapses in Payments for Russia-China Exports

The share of the dollar in payments for exports from Russia to China has fallen below 50% for the first time in history, the RBC news website reported Friday. The dollar’s share fell to 45.7% in the first quarter of 2019, down from 75.1% in 2018. When both exports and imports of goods and services between Russia and China are considered, the share of the dollar also fell dramatically but still accounted for 55.7% of payments ($14.7 billion of a total turnover of $26.4 billion), RBC reported.
